The unemployment rate for the City of Mentor decreases 2.1% to 8.9% for the month of July 2020. One year ago, the unemployment rate was 3.9%. In Lake County, the unemployment rate decreases 2.1% as well to 9.9% for the month of July; one year ago, it was 3.9%. The July figures show the impact of the continued reopening of businesses during the COVID-19 economic crisis for the City of Mentor.

Among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more, Kettering has the lowest unemployment rate at 8.2% with Cuyahoga Falls second at 8.5% and Mentor is third with 8.9%. The City’s civilian labor force increased from 23,400 to 25,700.

The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate decreases from 11.1% to 9.1% for the month of July.
