Walter Triplett Jr. Convicted Of Causing Mentor Man's Death
Triplett was sentenced to 20 years in prison

The second trial ended even worse than the first for Walter Triplett Jr.
Triplett was convicted of felonious assault and involuntary manslaughter Wednesday in Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
The victim was Michael Corrado, a Mentor man who Triplet punched on April 30, 2009, outside of the Barley House in Cleveland. The punched knocked 22-year-old Corrado backward. He never regained consciousness and died 18 hours later.

A jury already convicted Triplett of felonious assault on this case once before but was hung on the charge of involuntary manslaughter. The judge convicted Triplett to the maximum possible penalty -- 18 years in prison, eight for the assault and 10 because he qualified as a repeat violent offender.
However, earlier this year, and decided that he deserved a new trial.

But Triplett fared no better in his second trial. The jury convicted him of felonious assault and involuntary manslaughter. Then, Judge Shirley Strickland Saffold, the same judge who sentenced Triplett before, sentenced him to 20 years in prison.
