The City Council's Monday meeting involved talk about bikes and trash cans, as well as a new planning commission member.

Monday’s City Council meeting saw the appointment of a new member to the city’s planning commission, as well as the approval of a new ordinance regarding trash cans and the discussion of legislation regarding bike helmets according to Cleveland.com.

Mayor Cyril Kleem appointed resident Chris Arnold to the city’s planning commission the website reported. He will hold the position for five years.

Kleem also will be issuing warnings now to people who leave their trash cans out. Council passed an ordinance that required residents to remove their trash cans from the lawn by 10 a.m. the day after their respective trash day reported Cleveland.com. The move is in response to complaints from both city officials and residents about the cans being an eyesore according to the website.
