BEREA, OH - The Cleveland Monsters (formerly the Lake Erie Monsters) brought the team's Calder Cup Championship trophy, and team mascot Sully, to Big Creek Elementary Oct. 19.
The American Hockey League team received their championship rings on Oct. 18, but each member of the team, including the staff, got to spend a day with the trophy. Tony Brown, the team's announcer, has a stepson that attends the school and said he wanted to bring the trophy through Big Creek.
Students were able to take pictures with the Calder Cup and Sully, and get autographs from the team mascot. Brown also gave every student at the event a voucher for free tickets to a game.
