Highway Patrol Led on 3-County Chase of Stolen Vehicle

State troopers were led through Medina, Cuyahoga and Lorain counties during a chase Tuesday afternoon.

Two men who led highway patrol troopers on a car chase through Medina, Cuyahoga and Loraine counties were arrested Tuesday, authorities said.

The chase started around 1:30 p.m. in Medina county, reported Cleveland.com. After a trooper attempted to stop the stolen vehicle, it headed north on Interstate 71.

But the suspects were only getting warmed up.

Eventually the chase moved westbound on Interstate 480 in Cuyahoga before continuing west on Ohio 20 in Loraine County. Eventually the car came to a stop on Ohio 20 and the two men inside were arrested. The chase was a group effort, with state troopers from Medina, Cleveland Metro and Elyria posts contributed to the chase, as well as local police departments.

The men were identified as suspects in the car theft, the highway patrol said in a press release. The men were taken into custody and charges are currently pending against them. The two also had active warrants for their arrest.

No injuries were reported as a result of the car chase.
