Officers Bust Marijuana Smokers in Parking Lot of Quarrytown: Berea Police Blotter

The smokers were also allegedly trying to break into a parked car.

BEREA, OH -

Identity Theft, Oct. 8 - A Berea resident, reported to police that someone had opened a Walmart credit card in her name in Cincinnati. The person had ran up $2,913 in charges on the card and Miller was now receiving calls about the debt.

Harassing Communication, Oct. 11 - A Berea woman's ex-fiance, Jeffrey Brennan, sent harassing text messages to the woman. He was told to cease communication with the woman. However, after Brennan changed his phone number, he began sending the texts again. The woman also found several emails in her spam folder from Brennan.

Breaking and Entering, Oct. 11 - The Oriole Cafe reported that someone attempted to break into its back shed and gain entry into the cafe. It appears they were unable to gain entry into the cafe.

Driving Under the Influence of Drugs, Oct. 8 - Officers pulled over Felix Nieves, an Olmsted Falls man, for swerving through lanes on Wesley Drive. While speaking with Nieves, officers began to suspect he may have been under the influence of drugs. He was transported to Southwest General Hospital for a blood test.

OVI, Oct. 8 - Jeffrey Paul Granger was arrested for drinking and driving after officers watched him drive his car onto the curb. When officers turned on their lights to initiate the stop, Granger drove home and stopped in his driveway. He then attempted to get out of his car and officers told him to get back inside. Granger instead sat in the driver's seat with the door open and his feet on the driveway. Officers said they could distinctly smell alcohol on his person. He was later tested and his BAC was .200.

Marijuana Possession, Oct. 8 - A caller reported a suspicious vehicle loitering in the parking lot of Quarrytown, 55 W. Bagley Road. The caller said that two men were attempting to break into a Chrysler parked there. When officers reported to the scene, they found two men and two women sitting in a Chevrolet, next to the Chrysler. The men and women said they were waiting for a friend to get off of work. Officers made contact with the caller and they said that the two men in the Chevrolet had been trying to break into the Chrysler.

When officers talked to the people in the Chevrolet, they could smell marijuana. They searched Maiver Morgan, of Brook Park, and found a marijuana cigarette. Officers then searched the car and found one gram of weed.
