My vote is NOT for sale.

With only days to the midterm elections on November 3, 2026 something unamerican is coming our way. Donald J. Trump knowing full well that the midterms are a referendum on his presidency and fully realizing that his policies have been destructive to not only the economy but to the very fabric of our country is desperately trying to bribe the American voter with various nebulous promises of large payments if the Republicans win enough votes to retain control of both houses of Congress.

Let's start with the "Trump dividend", a proposed payment of $5,000 to every adult citizen of the United States IF (that's a big IF) the Republicans retain control of both houses of Congress. At an estimated cost of over one trillion dollars, which only adds to the U.S. debt which is now over forty trillion dollars; so his proposal is that we essentially bribe ourselves with our tax dollars. Once again, this is a big IF.

Consider Trump's record of actually making good on promised payments. In November of 2025 he promised to send every American a $2,000 tariff refund check. I am anxiously waiting for mine as are millions of others who like me have already spent more than that for the increased price of gasoline, food, and just about all the staples that are just needed to get by. Add this to the $5,000 "DOGE" dividends that were promised in 2025 that have not materialized and my economic hole that is being dug by Trump's policies is getting bigger and bigger.

Now he has promised $8 billions dollars of relief to alleviate the plight of U.S. farmers who may well have been irrevocably damaged by the high prices of diesel and being forced to pass on those costs to the American consumer.

All in all it shows the desperation of Trump and his Republican minions who have full well known that his economic policies and the Iran war has costs billions and damaged the image of the United States perhaps beyond repair.

But most of all his attempts to buy the midterms with empty promises is blatantly unamerican. It is a direct attack on the very concept of our democracy and our country's commitment to free, fair, and honest elections. My belief in those traditional ideals is sacrosanct and once again Mr. Trump: MY VOTE IS NOT FOR SALE!
