An Oil and Gas Education Series Presented for the Community

The Canton Small Business Development Center* and Kent State University at Stark, in conjunction with the attorneys at the Roetzel & Andress Law Firm, will present a four-part Oil and Gas Education Series.

The public presentations are designed to provide education to members of the community. Presented by knowledgeable attorneys at Roetzel & Andress, each event will provide a factual forum, with an opportunity for attendees to ask questions regarding the subject matter.

Each event in the series will take place from 6:30 – 8 p.m. in Kent State Stark’s Main Hall Auditorium, 6000 Frank Avenue NW in Jackson Township. Register online for $10 per person or $15 per couple at www.cantonsbdc.org.

This program will review S.B. 315, Ohio’s newest law on oil and gas, as well as the regulations in the State of Ohio, including set-backs, chemical disclosure, requirements for pre-drilling, groundwater testing and permitting, among others.

Presenters:      

 

Robert B. Casarona

Casarona, a Roetzel & Andress partner with a practice that focuses on environmental litigation, including toxic torts, as well as business and construction litigation, is a leader on the firm’s Oil and Gas Industry Team. He has served as the lead trial counsel in cases throughout Ohio, Florida, California and Utah and has argued appeals in numerous districts and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. His clients include businesses of all types. Casarona regularly lectures on topics, such as e-discovery, environmental law and business disputes. He has published articles on numerous topics, including a treatise chapter on environmental enforcement. 

Shane A. Farolino

As a Roetzel & Andress partner and a leader on the firm’s Oil and Gas Industry Team, Farolino’s practice focuses on environmental compliance counseling, permitting and administrative, civil and criminal litigation. He has extensive experience in handling Clean Water Act permitting projects, emergency response and crisis management events, the defense of environmental enforcement actions and toxic tort litigation matters. His clients have included major petroleum and manufacturing companies, commercial developers and government entities. Before entering private practice, he served as an assistant attorney general in the Environmental Enforcement Section of the Ohio Attorney General’s Office.

The next event in the series, Real Estate and Mineral Rights, will take place on Thursday, Nov. 29. Dates for the remaining two events, Understanding the Process and Basic Contracts Used in Oil and Gas Management, will be scheduled soon.
