Held under sunny skies in late September, Gervasi Vineyard's first annual Grape Harvest Festival benefitted United Way of Greater Stark County's 2012 campaign efforts. The Swaldo family, vineyard owners and longtime United Way contributors, added to the festival donation for a total gift of $10,000. Proceeds from festival activities, such as corn hole, bocce ball, grape stomping and the festival's Italian buffet were contributed in addition to Festa Gervasi! vendors who donated a portion of their proceeds.
“With over 5000 guests in attendance, we couldn’t be more pleased with the success of this first year event. We greatly appreciate the support of our customers in helping us make this contribution to the United Way,” said Scott Swaldo, General Manager of Gervasi Vineyard. “We also want to thank the many volunteers and United Way staff for their role in making this event possible.”
"Our sincerest thanks to the Gervasi team," said Maria Heege, CEO of United Way of Greater Stark County. "We are very appreciative of your support and trust of United Way. Your generous gift will serve many needy children and families right here in Stark County."
