Obama for America “Heartland Tour 2012: Moving the Middle Class Forward” to Travel to Massillon for the Grand Opening of 100th OFA-OH Office

On Tuesday, September 18th at 6 p.m. the “Heartland Tour 2012: Moving the Middle Class Forward” will make a special stop at the grand opening of the 100th Organizing for America-Ohio (OFA-OH) office in Massillon.

The Massillon office will serve as a community hub for 2012 election activities. Guest speakers Mayor Kathy Catazaro-Perry and Stark County Chairman Randy Gonzalez will discuss the choice in this election between two fundamentally different visions of how to grow the economy, create middle-class jobs and pay down the debt.

The Heartland Tour has been traveling Ohio for three weeks, highlighting the stark contrast between President Obama and his opponent, Mitt Romney, on the issues that matter to the nation’s heartland.

President Obama knows that in America’s heartland, more than anywhere else, we will succeed by restoring a strong middle class and returning to the belief that hard work should pay, responsibility should be rewarded, and when everybody does their fair share – we’re all better off.  Meanwhile, Mitt Romney believes the way to strengthen the heartland is to give away additional tax breaks to millionaires and billionaires at the expense of the middle class.  Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan’s plan would devastate middle class families in America’s heartland – turning Medicare into a voucher program, privatizing Social Security, cutting investments in education, health, and infrastructure, and creating a tax plan that would encourage companies to ship American jobs to countries like China.
