On February 8, Stark County Job and Family Services (SCJFS) was notified its Children Services Division received reaccreditation from the Council on Accreditation (COA).
Last year, the agency completed the accreditation process which involved a detailed review and analysis of administrative operations and service delivery practices. COA standards emphasize services that are accessible, appropriate, culturally responsive, evidence-based, and outcome-oriented.
"Reaccreditation is a tremendous achievement that demonstrates SCJFS is recognized as a provider that continues to successfully implement high performance standards," COA President and CEO Richard Klarberg said. "SCJFS staff should take enormous delight in continuing to be part of COAβs Community of Excellence."

In 2005, the agency became the 11th of Ohioβs 88 county public children services agencies to earn COA accreditation. Currently, 25 county agencies are accredited.
"Earning reaccreditation is a significant accomplishment," SCJFS Executive Director Julie Barnes said. "It represents an assurance to the children, families, and community we serve that they are receiving the highest quality service. Staff and clients can feel confident and proud to be part of Stark County Children Services. We extend our thanks and appreciation to all of our staff who have worked so hard to achieve this goal."
