Walsh University's DeVille School of Business will host the first Entrepreneurship Fair on Tuesday, April 9, in the Barrette Business and Community Center, from 3 to 6 pm.Β This event is free to the public and will featureΒ a group of expert panelistsΒ who will speak on the topicΒ of entrepreneurship.Β The fair will alsoΒ provide a platform for students to meet with industry experts who will have a chance to showcase their business ideas.
βWe planned for more of an open environment, where students, entrepreneurs and communityΒ members can come and go as they please and network or listen to our panelists,β said Dr. Philip Kim, DeVille School of Business Assistant Professor.Β βThe ultimate goal is to promote the spirit of entrepreneurship on campus regardless of major, background, or studies.Β We want our students to understand that anyone can start a business with hard work and the right tools.β
Participants will include: Doug Lane, President, North Canton Chamber of Commerce; Brian Bailey, Inchor Restaurant Group; Dan Thomson, Emerson Thomson Bennett (ETB) Intellectual Property Law Firm; Victor Pavona, Small Business Development Corporation; John Menches, Babcock& Wilcox; Ted Stults, Past President and CEO, Buckeye Feed Mills, Inc.; Joe Rosza, Trailer Trash Design; Bill McHenry, Chicagoβs United Inventors Association Board Member; and Canadaβs Brad Rabiey, βThe Carbon Farmer.β

The Fair will be separated into three segments:
Room A: Fair Booths for industry experts, graphic designers, patent attorneys, SBDC, SBA, Community entrepreneurs, small business owners, Chamber of Commerce, etc.
Room B: Keynote speakers will present information on their businesses, how they got started, the hardships, successes, etc.
Room C: Student-Run Businesses- display booths offering student entrepreneurs the opportunity to showcase their business concept, pitch their ideas to potential investors, or sell their products on-site.
