Nelson Mandela worked tirelessly to reconcile the inequalities and conflicts between the racial and economic divide that troubled his country. A man loved and respected not just in Africa but really around the world. While his struggles and example serve as an inspiration to political activists and human-rights workers globally, his quotes and sayings can be applied to much smaller, everyday issues and circumstances. I’m in no way trying to cheapen or misapply his wise words. Quite the contrary, however, I’m simply sharing the words of a man who was courageous, compassionate and ever-optimistic. Couldn’t we all use such positivity and encouragement in our lives?  Never give up!
