Artist Joe Culley opens "Windows" show at Journey Art Gallery

Windows- A show of new work from painter and tabla
delight Joe Culley. Show opens Sept. 21st. Artist reception Sept. 28th, 6-9pm.

This show is a small visual snippet of how Joe Culley
sees mystery felt through visual meditation. He utilizes a variety of visual
genre as a means of expressing his witnessing mystery experiences through what
he calls his "windows." He describes these "windows" in
terms of a literal, metaphorical and spiritual framing of mystery seen and
unseen. "The paper and wooden panels in which the art is made upon has the
built in limitations of width, length and aΒ minusculeΒ amount of
depth, therefore it is a frame, a window to take a peek so to speak. I created
these β€˜windows’ to take a view beyond what is contained in these physical
limitations by creating a focal target for visual meditation, placing me and
hopefully you beyond the observed and into the undefined dimensions of
stillness, silence and peacefulness."Β
