The North Canton Public Library offers several options for exploring the world of film in August. Since the launch of the libraryβs new logo and accompanying tagline, βexplore the world,β all areas of the library are collaborating to explore a common theme each month. As if exploration isnβt exciting enough on its own, the library is rewarding patrons for completing an exploration activity too!
Itβs so easy:
1.Β Β Β If a patron doesnβt already have one, they can pick up a free guidebook at the library.
2.Β Β Β Patrons then choose and complete one of Augustβs activities (listed below).
3.Β Β Β Library staff will validate Augustβs guidebook coupon for a Buy One, Get One Admission to the Canton Palace Theatre, and entry in a drawing to win a free balcony party for 25 guests at the theatre.
Adult and Teen Exploration Activity Options:
- View a movie at the βBook to Movieβ film festival on August 10.
- Bring a donation for Pathways Caring for Children. (see wish list on our website)
- Check out an item from the βexplore the worldβ display in the young adult or adult department and complete the monthly survey.
Childrenβs Exploration Activity Options:
- Attend at least one day of the Harry Potter Film Fest held August 6-9 for children grades 4-7. (register in advance at the childrenβs desk)
- View a movie at the βBook to Movieβ film festival on August 10.
- Check out two items from the βexplore the worldβ display in the childrenβs department.
- Bring a donation for Pathways Caring for Children. (see wish list on our website)
Each month, the libraryβs special incentives are possible thanks to an βexplorationβ partner. In August, the Canton Palace Theatre is providing this support.
Additionally, the library looks forward to featuring a βmeet the needβ partner, and collecting in-kind donations for them each month. Augustβs βmeet the needβ partner is Pathway Caring for Children. Anyone who brings a wish list donation for this fantastic organization will have their guidebook coupons validated.
Pathway Caring for Children is recognizing 40 years of serving abused, neglected and abandoned children and families in need. They will celebrate this milestone on September 21 with an event featuring special guests, Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy, the real life adoptive parents of Super Bowl champion Michael Oher, who inspired the movie The Blind Side.
Wish lists for the organization will be available on the libraryβs website beginning August 1, www.ncantonlibrary.org.
