North Point is a homestyle-cooking destination on the north end of town

North Canton Patch once again picks a great restaurant in town or nearby that is worth checking out.Β

Overview: North Point is a longtime North Canton restaurant tucked away in its original location in the Marc's Plaza at 1664 N. Main St. It is an excellent place to take your family for homestyle cooking.

Decor: It has the old-style diner feel withΒ a lunch counter up front and a mixture of booths and tables. The waitresses are friendly and take pride in pampering the regular customers. You cannot help but notice examples of lighthouses throughout the restaurant.

The Drinks: No alcoholic beverages are available, but a full offering of soft drinks, coffee, hot tea, iced tea and milk are available. Milkshakes are also a tasty treat at North Point.

Appetizers: In lieu of appetizers, a variety of side dishes can be ordered including applesauceΒ and cottage cheese. Regular diners enjoy the homemade potato chips.

Entrees: It is breakfast all day at North Point in addition to a wide variety of sandwiches, dinners, salads and homemade soups. Daily specials are clearly posted on dry erase boards inside the front door and on the front wall.

A breakfast favorite is the "Gregory Special," a combination of English muffin, scrambled eggs, ham slices or sausage patties and creamy cheese sauce on top. Crispy home fries complement any breakfast meal.Β Omelets and a breakfast burrito are also very popular.

North Point also offers Heart Association specials, vegetarian selections and a menu for kids. Pricing is typically under $10 for a dinner and under $5 for a sandwich. Families can enjoy ample portions at a reasonable price.

Desserts: The bread pudding isΒ well knownΒ and homemade pies are a welcomed finale to a delicious meal.

Service:Β Reservations are not required and major credit cards are accepted. There is plenty of parking in the plaza's front lot.

Hours: Open Monday through Friday at 6 a.m., Saturday at 6:30 a.m. and Sunday at 7 a.m. Lunch is served daily until 2 p.m.Β (Monday until noon) and open later on Friday evening until 8 p.m. For more information, call 330-966-1290.
