Book to Movie Film Festival

The library is "exploring
the world" of film in August, and we're celebrating with a day long
film festival featuring movies that were adapted from books. Join us for
as many films as you'd like Saturday, August 10. We'll have snacks and
drinks available as well as some fun facts about each film.

As a special bonus, anyone who attends even part of the festival will receive a buy one, get one admission coupon to the Canton Palace Theatre.

Here's the full schedule for the day:
CHILDREN’S SELECTIONS
10 a.m. - Curious George
(USA, 2006, 86 minutes, G, based on the book series by H.A. and Margret Rey)

11:45 a.m. - Coraline
(USA, 2009, 100 minutes, PG, based on Neil Gaiman's 2002 novel of the same name)

1:45 p.m. - How to Eat Fried Worms
(USA, 2006, 98 minutes, PG, based on the 1973 children's book of the same name by Thomas Rockwell)
*children’s selections will be shown in the library’s downstairs program rooms


ADULT/TEEN SELECTIONS
10 a.m. - Cider House Rules
(USA, 1999, 126 minutes, PG-13, adapted from John Irving's novel of the same name)

12:15 p.m. - Field of Dreams
(USA, 1989, 107 minutes, PG, adapted from W. P. Kinsella's novel Shoeless Joe)

2:15 p.m. - The Hunger Games
(USA, 2012, 142 minutes, PG-13, based on the novel of the same name by Suzanne Collins)
*adult/teen selections will be shown in the Little Art Gallery
