Catfish Derby June 8 at Cook’s Lagoon
Seniors 65 and over and youngsters 4-15 years old will have a chance to reel in large catfish at Stark Parks’ annual Cook’s Lagoon Fishing Derby Sat., June 8 from 8-11 a.m. Prizes will be given in four age categories: 4-7, 8-11, 12-15, and seniors. The derby is co-sponsored by the Berkley Fishing Team, who will provide a free fishing pole to one lucky child. The Team is also sponsoring a drawing for $250 in cash at the end of the summer. Each time a child attends a derby sponsored by Stark Parks, they get another opportunity to win the cash. No registration is required for the derby; when a fish is caught, it is measured and entered for a prize. Cook’s Lagoon is in NE Canton on the north side of Mahoning Road NE.
