It started out as a group family activity, but the husband, wife and two children in the Maxim family in North Canton have excelled individually in martial arts.
Keith and Laura and their two children Megan, 10, and Griffin are all accomplished first-degree black belts with state title wins.
Fox 8 News recently did a feature on Megan, who just won five out of seven titles in a district championship in Chicago.
“It is very complicated to compete on my level, but I know I can do this, so I push myself even further,” said Megan in the Fox 8 story. “I mostly do well in the creative and extreme category, but I also do well in form, sparring and weapons.”
