"Puzzle-a-thon FUN-raiser”

Akron, OH – ASPIES Greater Akron, Inc. will host their first "Puzzle-a-thon FUN-raiser” taking place at Summit Academy High School on Saturday, April 27, 2013 from 1 to 4 PM.  This event will feature families from the community coming together to assemble puzzles together for Autism.  Teams can register in advance or at the door on the day of the event.  Assembled puzzles will be donated to local organizations with the individual or team’s name included that assemble it.  There will also be food, fun, raffle baskets and fellowship throughout the event.  Raffle items range from gift baskets to a free week of Rotary Camp.  All proceeds will benefit programming activities as ASPIES Greater Akron, Inc., is a volunteer run organization serving people in Summit, Stark, Portage, Wayne, Medina and parts of Cuyahoga counties. 

 

ASPIES Greater Akron, Inc., is proud to announce this first time “FUN-raising” event to the community.  The funds raised will allow ASPIES Greater Akron, Inc., to host more activities, programs and events to help support families who are raising a child with Autism and adult individuals on the spectrum. 

 

ASPIES Greater Akron, Inc., mission is to enhance the lives of individuals and their families with Asperger Syndrome, High Functioning Autism & PDD-NOS.

 

Currently ASPIES Greater Akron, Inc., offers the following services and resources to fulfill their mission:

• Phone support - providing a listening ear when individuals/parents feel lost in a world of their own and letting them know we are here to help

• Online support - providing resources such as trainings, social events, service providers, and newsworthy articles

• Monthly support groups - providing education to families effected as well as the professionals dealing with them (Many of our programs cross disability lines)

• Meet & Greets - providing an opportunity for families to come together for mutual support and fun

• Collaboration with other agencies - to coordinate the resources available within our community for the benefit of our individuals/families
