All money raised at Kick for the Cure this year will be donated to Stewarts Caring Place and to Susan G. Komen Foundation, in hopes of being able to make a difference and to help fight cancer.
The "Kick for the Cure" began 5 years ago when the Green High School Girls` Soccer team and the Green Youth Soccer players joined together to honor Soccer Coach Jeff Basone’s wife, Shawn, as she courageously fought her battle with cancer.
The event was a great success and brought our "soccer family" and the community together to raise funds and awareness for cancer. Today the teams still feel the need to help fight this terrible disease.
