This play premiered on Broadway in 1914. The merry tale concerns Kim, a librettist, who is seeking a composer to set his newest show to music. He finds one in Ruth, but warns her that their relations will be strictly artistic and platonic. He is one of a group of four bachelors, who have sworn to preserve their single state. One by one, however, his three male friends succumb to feminine wiles, Kim alone resisting; but at the end he admits that Ruth is "the only girl" for him, and he is eager to follow the example of his companions.
