The Walsh University Chorale will hold a Spring Chorale Concert directed by Dr. Britt Cooper, Director of Choral Activities, on April 12 at 7 pm in the Alumni Arena of the Cecchini Center. This event is free to the public.
The Walsh University Chorale is a large choir of around 70 voices. Musically, the ensemble embraces the spiritual heritage of choral singing while also performing secular works of the highest quality.
Dr. Britt Cooper holds a M.M. in Choral Conducting from the University of Alabama and a D.M.A. in Choral Conducting from the University of South Carolina. He directs two choral ensembles: the Walsh University Chorale and the traveling Walsh Chamber Singers.Β In the Fall of 2012, Dr. Cooper was appointed Director of the Canton Symphony Chorus.Β Through his career, Dr. Cooper has also led collegiate choirs in Georgia, South Carolina, and Tennessee and has conducted regional honor choirs throughout Ohio. He is a member of the American Choral Directors Association, the College Music Society, and the National Association for Music Educators.Β
