The NAMI Education and Support Program’s Hall of Fame honors volunteers across the country who advance its mission of education, support and advocacy for those touched by mental illness. The family programs for which the Stark County volunteers were honored focus on helping family and friends of people diagnosed with a serious mental illness. The course, taught by family members who have had intensive training, describes treatments for mental illnesses and teaches the knowledge and skills that family members need to cope more effectively.

NAMI Stark County offers a range of similar free classes and support groups, including Peer-To-Peer Classes for any person with a serious mental illness who is interested in establishing and maintaining wellness and Basics Classes for parents and other caregivers of children and adolescents living with mental illnesses.
