Hoover Students Capture Second Diebold 'Paint Off' Title

The annual art challenge tests local art students' creativity in the name of a good cause.

Hoover High School's artists have done it again.

For the second year in a row, a small team of Hoover students won the "Paint Off" held at Diebold's world headquarters in Green last week.

Based on the theme of "ArtΒ and Technology," the students were given four hours to create a 4'x4' mural to convey their concept, said Hoover art teacher Christopher Triner.Β

After the allotted time, students shared their concept with top executives from the local manufacturer, said Triner.

The winning team, comprised of, Hannah Gianfagna, Hannah Cowie, Sheldyn Nicholson, Quyen Duong and Kayli Sommers, claimed a $100 gift certificate forΒ artΒ supplies.

Six teams in all participated in the competition.Β 

Proceeds from the annual event were donated to ArtsinStark.
