Jordan Greenwald Wants to Keep District's Standard of Excellence as School Board Member

The current Board of Education president talked to North Canton Patch recently about why he's running for re-election

Candidate Statement: I am currently serving as the president of the Board of Education. I have three kids in the system. My oldest, Alec, is a sophomore at , my middle son, Matthew, is going into seventhΒ grade at the and my youngest, Joseph, is going into fifthΒ grade at .Β 

During my term on the Board, we have put through an early retirement program, re-financed some long-term debt, we approved the addition of all-day kindergarten using a structure that saves several hundred thousand dollars. We have also negotiated a complete compensation freeze with the staff.Β 

We in North Canton like to say that we have an β€œAAA” district striving for excellence in academics, arts and athletics. We were recently ranked No. 357 in .Β What’s more impressive is that compared to the other 18 Ohio school districts in that listing, at $9,240.Β 

My goal going forward is to continue that long-established standard of excellence in those areas while also keeping an eye on the financial strength and long-term viability of the district. Β
