Six children bested 161 others to take home trophies and bicycles from the June 1 Pep Tamargo Children’s Fishing Derby at Sippo Lake Park, sponsored by the Berkley Fishing Team. First place winners were as follow: (left to right) Ben French; Madison Swartzentruber, 12, of North Canton; Kaylee Hoyt, 10, of Magnolia; Ben Pindel, 10, of Hartville; Layla Talkington, 4, of Massillon; and Alex Swartz, 7,of Akron. Prizes were given to boys and girls in three age groups: 4-7, 8-11, and 12-15. The next Stark Parks/Berkley Team derby is for seniors 65 and over and children 4-15 on Sat., June 8 at Cook’s Lagoon, Mahoning Road NE in Canton.
