North Canton Meth Cook Sentenced to Prison

James Haldeman, 48, of North Canton, was arrested this past December on multiple meth-related felonies.

Judge Kristin Farmer sentenced James C. Haldeman to three years in prison on April 25 for his admitted role in a local meth operation.

Haldeman, 48, of North Canton, was convicted of attempted illegal manufacture of drugs, a second-degree felony; illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs; a second-degree felony; aggravated trafficking in drugs, a third-degree felony; and aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony.Β 

Haldeman was originally charged with illegal manufacture of drugs, a first-degree felony; however, the charge was reduced after he pled guilty to all charges, according to the Stark County Clerk of Courts Office.Β

Haldeman was sentenced in the Stark County Court of Common Pleas and was sent to the Lorain Correctional Institute.

North Canton policeΒ obtained a search warrant for Haldeman’s home at 221 Fairview St. SE, andΒ on Dec. 20, the department’sΒ Special Response TeamΒ searched his home for illegal drug activity.

β€œOfficers found evidence of the manufacture and assembly of methamphetamine,” Chief Stephan WilderΒ told North Canton Patch in December. β€œMr. Haldeman was arrested without incident when he arrived home while officers were completing their investigation and search.”

Agents from theΒ Stark County Metropolitan Narcotics UnitΒ also assisted at the home.
