Oh That Ohio Weather
Antonio Velardo considers options outside of the great state of Ohio (and out side of the Polar Vortex!)

If the snow and ice of the last couple of days has gotten the best of you--then perhaps it is time to consider a warmer climate. My “dream home” exists in the south of France. The photo seen here is a panoramic view from a friend’s balcony near Antibes--yes those are the Alps behind the Mediterranean (best of both worlds!). At this time, that photo is as close as I can get to that part of the world, but one can dream, right?
OK, so what if there were a happy medium? Say a nice, warm-winter-weather area on this side of the pond? Of course, there are plenty-1 just head south on I-77 and the weather will change in no time. Keep going south even further and you may end up in the Fort Lauderdale-Miami area--a place that is happening not just on the tourist and social scene, but in the real estate industry as well. If you’re looking for a second home or some investment property, southern Florida is really where it’s at right now. I’m sure you don’t need a list of reasons why this is true (though, Mickey and the white beaches might be high up on that list if we were to start writing...), but what you might need is some direction when it comes to investing. As one who has done *ahem* a bit of investing in his time, allow me to point you to this article on Real Estate Investing 101 It’s a quick read full of good info and if you’re looking for any excuse to cast your eyes south for the winter, allow me to suggest a reason that might add to your financial security.
Please feel free to give me your feedback and share your favorite hideaways in winter--whether it’s a vacation spot, second home, or just a dream location--and if you’ve been successful, too, in investing down south, please share your stories and successes so that we can get inspired and celebrate with you.
