Lightning and high energy were both present Friday night as the Hoover boys' lacrosse team traveled to archrival Jackson
The Viking boys' lacrosse team, ranked 11th in the state of Ohio, traveled to Jackson Friday night to battle the team ranked 18th in the state.
The game was delayed a half hour because of lightning, but the weather didn't stop Hoover from striking early as they took the opening faceoff and scored for the early 1-0 lead.
The Vikings also led briefly 2-1 before the Polar Bears ran off four straight goals. The game was delayed another 30 minutes because of lightning with 9:39 remaining in the second quarter and the Vikings down 5-2.

*Jackson boys led 6-4 at halftime, but the Vikings finished the game with a 10-9 win. Their record now is 11-3.
