Scholarship deadline approaching
STJ Federal Credit Union's WILLIAM P. DAVIS SCHOLARSHIP applications available

Scholarship applications are due by January 31, 2016 for STJ Federal Credit Union’s William P. Davis scholarship.
This will be the third year the scholarship has been awarded to a prospective or currently enrolled college student. It is a renewable scholarship, meaning applicants can keep applying for the funds until they’ve graduated from college, explained CEO Cari Huthmacher.
Qualifications for the scholarship are based on need, and area of study, she said. “The main criteria is that they be members of the credit union. If not currently a member, all it takes is a $5 deposit to open a savings account,” she said.
The scholarship honors William P. Davis, who served on the STJ board for 10 years. He became president in 2011 and served in that capacity until his death.
To get your application, stop by either the main STJ location at 1811 Whipple Ave., NW or the Louisville branch at 315 Sherban Court, just off Gorgas and right across from HP Products. The application is also available on the website, stjfcu.org. People are also encouraged to call with questions. The number is 330-478-8400.
The scholarship will be presented to the winner at the annual dinner in March.
