SOLD-OUT MAIN EVENT EXCEEDS GOAL

Meals on Wheels of Stark & Wayne Counties' 4th Annual Main Event Fundraiser

MASSILLON, Ohio – This year’s sold-out Main Event fundraiser “Stomp Out Hunger” was the most successful yet!

The wine-casual event was held on November 13, 2015 at the Alex D. Krassas Center in Canton, and the agency is proud to announce that the fundraiser exceeded its goal of $135,000.

“Cheers to everyone who made this a successful night!” said Ted Watko, CEO of Meals on Wheels “We could not accomplish and surpass our goals without your support.”

With three hundred guests in attendance, the fundraiser was a sold-out event. For those who attended, there was delicious food, excellent wine, unique prizes, and the best company to be had.

Proceeds from the event will go towards the agency’s mission of serving its community and providing its homebound and hungry neighbors with nutritional support for better health, mobility, and independence.

“We are always humbled and honored by the support we receive, and these funds will be used to further our mission over the next twelve months.”

The Main Event proudly recognized its Honorees, PPi Graphics, United Grinding, and Progressive Auto Group, for giving Meals on Wheels their unsolicited and endless support year-after-year. Volunteer Honorees, Don and Jean Joliat, were awarded for their extraordinary efforts and willingness to help Meals on Wheels.

Meals on Wheels of Stark & Wayne Counties is a non-profit agency that provides nutritional support to homebound individuals of all ages. Services include delivery of hot meals, breakfast meals, sack suppers, frozen meals, chopped meals, pureed meals and liquid supplements (pending physician referral), Monday through Friday. The agency has 17 sites throughout Stark and Wayne Counties and depends on volunteers to fulfill its mission.
