Superintendent Michael Gallina Signs on For Another 5 Years
Members of the North Canton City Schools Board of Education agreed to extend Gallina's contract another five years

Superintendent Michael Gallina will sign another five-year contract, effective Aug. 1, 2012, through July 31, 2017, North Canton City School Board decided Wednesday night.
The contract extension brings with it no changes in compensation or tems and conditions.
βMikeβs the third superintendent Iβve worked with in the 18 years Iβve been on the board,β Board member Christopher Goldthorpe said. βTheyβve all succeeded in moving the school district forward and maintaining our reputation of being one of the better school districts in the state of Ohio.β
Similar remarks were made by candidates running for North Canton City Schools Board of Education inside the Media Center. An audience member submitted a question about whether the candidates would approve of Gallinaβs five-year contract renewal.

βI wouldβve gone for a 10-year contract if Mike would agree to it,β Board president Jordan Greenwald said at Mondayβs Candidatesβ Night.
All five board members were in favor of the contract Wednesday night.
βCertainly itβs an honor and it will always be an honor to serve in such a great school district,β Gallina said.
In other business, board members voiced their , the proposed Stark County sales tax increase of 0.5 percent.

The Board will meet next at 6 p.m. Nov. 10 in the Hoover High Media Center.
