Video: Going Bare for Cancer Research

Hoover High School freshman Anna Spuhler joined dozens of others Sunday inside for the ninth annual St. Baldrick's Foundation event.

Some had anticipated getting their heads shaved as part of their fundraisers through St. Baldrick's Foundation, a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives. And then some others decided they'd get a shave, too, when they walked in the door.

Spuhler, who's had cancer affect her family, has been collecting money for weeks.

"The thousands of children that are diagnosed with cancer each year don't have a choice whether or not they want to lose their hair," Spuhler said in a . "I have choice."
