Voting Tips and Deadlines: Know Before You Go

Important information for Stark County voters from the Board of Elections

Elections are less than a week away. Below are a few tips and important deadlines for Stark County voters to note:

Early voting:Β Open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through Friday at the Stark County Board of Elections, 201 3rdΒ St. NE,Β Canton.

Nov. 4:Β Last day to vote early at the Board of Elections, deadline 4:30 p.m.

Nov. 4:Β Last day for residents voting by mail to drop off applications at the Board of Elections, deadline 6 p.m. The Board office also will be open until 6 p.m. for early in-person voting.

Nov. 5:Β Board of Elections must receive mailed ballot application requests by noon for voters to be eligible to vote by mail.

Nov. 7:Β Ballots mailed in the U.S. must be postmarked on or before this date. Make sure you putΒ 64 cents on the envelopeΒ β€” the postage is no longer paid for.

Nov 8:Β Election day. Polls open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Mailed ballots may be dropped off in person, but they must be delivered to the Board of Elections. Do not return mailed ballots to polling locations.

Check your polling location:Β It may have changed. The Board of Elections sends out postcards with information about new polling places, but to confirm, visitΒ Β or call the voter hotline at 330-451-VOTE (8683). Voters can also check their ward and precinct.Β 

What to bring:Β According to the Stark County Board of Elections, voters need a current and valid photo identification card, driver's license or state issued identification.Β If your address does not match what's currently on your identification card, voters must bring military identification, a copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or other government document that shows the voter’s name and current address.
