Registration is now open for the 4th Annual Fit Family 5K and Kids’ Fun Run at Walsh University, on Saturday, June 21. Organized by the Walsh Doctoral of Physical Therapy (DPT) students and faculty members, this family-friendly event is held annually to promote community health and wellness for all ages, while benefiting educational scholarships for Walsh’s DPT students.
The Fit Family 5K will provide participants with an opportunity for a fast road race, as well as a walking race, that starts on the Walsh University campus and winds through the beautiful surrounding North Canton community. The Kids’ Fun Run will kick-off at 8:20 am at the Walsh University track, with the 5K Run and Walk directly following at 9 am. The awards ceremony will be held at 10:30 am outside of the Paul and Carol David Family Campus Center on Walsh’s campus.
Kids of all ages and their parents are welcome to participate in the 0.5 mile (2 track laps) of the Kids’ Fun Run. All pre-registered racers before June 18 are guaranteed a t-shirt and each Kids Fun Run finisher will receive an award.
Adults who wish to participate in the 5K Race/Walk may sign up for free childcare for ages 2-10, during the adult 5K, provided by the DPT Club and Faculty. Childcare activities will include face painting, games, inflatables and a snack. Childcare on-site sign up will be held in Walsh’s David Center. A waiver is required and childcare space is limited to the first 50 children to register.
All online race registrations will incur a registration fee of $1.25. Cost for the 5K adult Run/Walk is $22; Walsh student rate (Student ID required) is $17; and the Kids’ Fun Run is $6. Prices will increase after Saturday, May 31, to $25 for adults and $20 for Walsh students.
Online race registration is available at www.runsignup.com/Race/OH/NorthCanton/FitFamily5K.
