St. Joseph Federal Credit Union announces William P. Davis Scholarship winners; to be recognized at annual dinner in March
Canton, OH February, 2016—The St. Joseph Federal Credit Union will host its annual dinner, Saturday, March 12 at Meyer’s Lake Ballroom.
Tickets are $15 for members, $23 for non-members. Social hour begins at 5 and the dinner choices are steak, chicken or Tim’s Tavern fish. A brief business meeting will follow dinner.
“We review the highlights of our previous year, as well as provide a look to our future,” said CEO Cari Huthmacher. Other highlights of the evening include entertainment, door prizes, a 50/50 raffle and introducing the winners of our two $1,000 William P. Davis Scholarship. This year’s are winner Zoe Schilling, a senior at Central Catholic and Douglas Synowka, a senior at Louisville High.
Schilling plans to study at the University of Findlay while Synowka plans to attend the Ohio State University.
“Both of these students are top achievers at their respective high schools, and truly embody the spirit of our scholarship,” Huthmacher said. The students, and their families, will be special guests at the annual dinner, where they’ll receive the official presentation of the scholarships, she said.
The theme for the dinner this year comes from a Lithuanian proverb: For every head a hat.
“We’re inviting everyone who attends to wear their favorite hat. There will be a prize for the most unique hat,” Huthmacher said.
Dinner tickets can be purchased at either the main location at 1811 Whipple Ave., NW in Canton or at 315 Sherban Court in Louisville. All STJ members are invited to the dinner.
