• Dolly Parton Day celebrated in Ottawa County (thebeacon.net) — Oak Harbor residents recently marked Dolly Parton Day by promoting her Imagination Library at local Mickey Mart gas stations, where families could snap photos and sign kids up for free books. With about 1,250 Ottawa County children already enrolled and more interest since Parton's passing, organizers are transitioning the county program into its own nonprofit to strengthen early literacy efforts.
