Ravenna police say security video and phone footage supported the woman's later report that the 2023 encounter was not consensual, despite her initial denial at the scene. The court is awaiting a probation report before imposing sentence.
3. Northeast Ohio school levies, bond issues on the Nov. 3 election ballot (wkyc.com) — Ravenna residents will see a renewal of the 2.9‑mill Ravenna City School District permanent‑improvement levy on the Nov. 3 ballot, estimated to cost $60 per $100,000 in home value and raise about $947,150 annually. 4. Portage County Sheriff's Office reopening cold case murder of Youngstown man (wkbn.com) — From Ravenna, the Portage County Sheriff's Office is reopening a cold case into the 1998 shooting death of 29‑year‑old Youngstown resident Dominic Thomas, whose body was found on a remote Garrettsville road. Investigators now plan to re‑interview people connected to the case and are asking anyone with information to contact Dr. Richard English or the sheriff's office to help finally resolve the decades‑old homicide.
