4 Home Break-Ins in Shaker Heights in 1 Week: Shaker Heights Police Blotter

Suspects hit homes on Avalon, Lindholm, and Glencairn Roads. Thieves also stole four batteries from US Postal Service vehicles.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH - Remember to lock your homes and cars before you go to bed. Four home break-ins occurred this past week and a fifth was thwarted when the suspects set-off the alarm while trying to gain entry.

Theft, Chagrin Boulevard - A mailman for the US Postal Service reported that someone stole batteries from four vehicles.

Arrest Warrant, Oct. 25 - As we reported last week, a 16-year-old female locked herself in a home on the 17000 block of Chagrin Boulevard after police tried to serve an arrest warrant. The girl shot a gun while barricaded within the home, but no one was hurt. Police were able to detain the girl after a brief standoff.

Assault, Oct. 16 - An East Cleveland woman reported that two suspects assaulted her while she was attending an event at Swerve Bar, located in the 20000 block of Chagrin Boulevard.

Theft, Oct. 27 - Someone broke into two homes on the night of Oct. 27. The first break-in occurred at a locked home on Avalon Road and stole jewelry. The second was on Lindholm Road and the resident reported the thief stole jewelry and electronics.

Theft, Oct. 27 - Someone entered a locked storage unit on Clayton Road and stole clothing from a resident.

Theft, Oct. 27 - Another bicycle was stolen from Shaker Heights High School, 15911 Aldersyde Dr. The bicycle had been secured on a rack.

Theft, Oct. 28 - The Larchmere Tavern was broken into and money was stolen. The owner of the bar called police and told them an unknown suspect damaged a window, came into the bar and stole the money.

Theft, Oct. 28 - An unknown suspect entered an unlocked home on Aldersyde Road and stole money and personal property.

Theft, Oct. 28 - Yet another home break-in occurred overnight. This time a resident on Glencairn Road reported that someone entered their unlocked home during the night, stole personal property, car keys, and a 2013 black Honda Civic 4-door with the license plate #GXN-6432.

Theft, Oct. 28 - Remember to lock your cars before you go to bed. A resident on Parkland Drive forgot that rule and unidentified suspects entered their vehicle and stole money while they resident was asleep.

Disturbance, Oct. 28 - Shaker Heights police responded to a residential alarm on Avalon Road at about 4:30 p.m. Officers determined that two unknown male suspects entered a locked home and then fled the area when they activated the alarm.

Theft, Oct. 28 - Seriously, lock your cars. A resident on Parkland Drive forgot to secure their vehicle and someone stole clothing from it overnight.

Assault, Oct. 30 - Two men in a Range Rover stopped a Lynnfield Road man and demanded he give them all of his money. The men then hit him in the face and drove off. They didn't steal any money.
