More than 1,400 people were without power in Cuyahoga County, including more than 500 in Shaker Heights on Thursday night. FirstEnergy said power should be restored to the majority of customers by 1 a.m. on Friday morning.
The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for much of Northeast Ohio, saying, "Strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, outdoor Christmas decorations, and power lines. Recent rainfall and saturated ground may also allow for some trees to be easily blown down. Scattered power outages are possible. The winds will also make the driving of high profile vehicles more difficult especially along I-90 and I-80."
