7 People Indicted For Involvement In Opioid Drug Ring

A Shaker Heights man and six other people allegedly brought fentanyl and other drugs into Northeast Ohio and then sold them.

CLEVELAND — A Shaker Heights and six other people have been indicted for trying to bring opioids into Northeast Ohio. The group is accused of trying to move carfentanil, fentanyl, heroin and cocaine into the region.

Henry Williams, 45, of Shaker heights was named in the indictment, along with Aaron Reels, 52, of Cleveland, Donnell Bell, 40, of Twinsburg, William Wheat, Jr., 35, of Cleveland; Andre Thompson, 39, of Brook Park; Otha Short, 66, of Cleveland, and Carl Mileca, 74, of Cleveland.

The indictment filed against the group says they tried to move the narcotics into the region between September 2017 and April 2018. Aaron Reels would allegedly buy drugs from Williams, William Wheat, and Donnell Bell.

Reels is accused of then selling the drugs to Andre Thompson, Otha Short, and Carl Mileca.

Multiple law enforcement groups worked together during the investigation into the alleged drug ring. The DEA, Lake County Narcotics Agency, Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Office, Euclid Police, Cleveland Heights Police, Ashtabula County Sheriff’s Office, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Cleveland Division of Police and Twinsburg Police Department all took part in the case.
