Before, After School Care To Be Provided To Fernway Families

The Shaker Heights Recreation Department is stepping up to help the elementary school community.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — Before and after school care will be provided for students at the temporary location for Fernway Elementary, the Shaker Heights Schools announced on Monday. The City of Shaker Heights Recreation Department will provide the services.

The school district said additional information will be shared at the next Community Meeting. A representative from the department will be on-hand at that meeting.

The temporary Fernway Elementary location has yet to be announced. District officials said the Fernway community can expect to know where their students will be going by August 1. The three options for Fernway staff and students next year are: Empty buildings, modular classrooms, and temporary assignments of classrooms to other buildings in Shaker.
