Today's riddle: What is full of holes but still holds water? 🤔 (Answer below!)
• Northeast Ohio Flock camera data: Who can search it? (cleveland.com) — If your car is photographed by a Flock camera in Shaker Heights, local police must now tie every search of that image to a specific case and block access by federal and out-of-state agencies. Shaker Heights also bans immigration-related keyword searches and closely audits system use, giving residents stronger privacy protections than neighboring Cleveland and Cleveland Heights while all three cities currently keep plate data up to 30 days.
• Highland Heights dispatcher resigns after Flock abuses found: 'Off the charts' (cleveland.com) — A Highland Heights dispatcher resigned after repeatedly misusing the city's Flock license-plate database, prompting the department to tighten its policies and launch monthly audits. Like Shaker Heights police, Highland Heights now bans using "immigration" as a search keyword, a move meant to reassure nearby residents that plate data won't be tapped for inappropriate or immigration-related lookups.
