Dr. Ronald Ross and Wife Helen Awarded Cleveland Clinic's Distinguished Fellow Award

Ronald J. Ross, MD, FACR and his wife, Helen were recently honored by Cleveland Clinic for their significant gifts of time, talent and resources given to the organization.  The couple was named Cleveland Clinic Distinguished Fellows, the highest lifetime honor bestowed upon select individuals who have made extraordinary contributions of service and resources to further the mission of Cleveland Clinic. 

The Distinguished Fellow award was established in 1971 to celebrate Cleveland Clinic’s 50th anniversary.

Grateful for the care that their grandson Edward Jack received, the couple established the first endowed chair at Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital, the Ronald and Helen Ross Chair in Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery.

In addition, the couple and their children are wonderful advocates, encouraging countless friends to join them in supporting the organization’s highest priorities.  Dr. Ross is the Emeritus Director of Radiology at Hillcrest Hospital having served as Director from 1990 to 2000, the Chairman of the East Region Board of Trustees, a member of Cleveland Clinic’s Board of Trustees since 1997 and a member of the Board of Directors.

Dr. and Mrs. Ross are members of the 1921 Society and the Pyramid Legacy Society, a group of more than 1,200 friends and alumni of Cleveland Clinic who have included the organization in their estate plans.

Over the years, the family has continued to support Cleveland Clinic Florida, the Sydell and Arnold Miller Family Heart & Vascular Institute, the Glickman Urological & Kidney Institute, the Edward Jack Ross Appreciation Fund and Hillcrest Hospital.
