Assault At Swerve Grille: Police "Confident" In Investigaton

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — Investigators are "confident" they'll soon have three suspects in custody for the attack on a delivery driver at Swerve Grille that happened early last week. Police said the suspects got into the restaurant and stole an undisclosed amount of cash.

Commander John Cole of Shaker Heights Police told Patch investigators are not releasing how much money was taken from the restaurant. Officers believe the dollar amount could tie the suspects to the crime.

On early Tuesday morning, police were called to Swerve Grille, on Chagrin Boulevard. A delivery driver told officers he had been assaulted by two men, one of whom had a handgun. The driver declined medical attention for his injuries.

During the attack, the driver was pushed over and the suspect got into the restaurant. The initial police report suggested some minor damage was done to the interior of Swerve and the suspects were able to steal money.

Cole suggested there may actually be three men involved in the crime: the two attackers and a getaway driver. "They had to get there somehow," he told Patch.

Investigators are reportedly working several leads on this case. Patch will continue to follow this story.
