Bicycle Thief Busted At Shaker Heights School

Over the past few months, bicycles have been a target for local thieves. Police caught at least one of the culprits over the weekend.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — After months of bicycle thefts, police have caught at least one of the culprits. A 17-year-old was busted with a stolen bike while hanging out near a Shaker Heights school. Read on for more information on that incident and other incidents from the weekend.

Theft, Aug. 11 — Someone stole a bicycle from a residence in the 18000 block of Sherrington Road. The suspect entered the residence's unlocked, enclosed front porch to steal the bike.

Theft, Aug. 8 —The tires were stolen off a bicycle that had been secured on a rack at Shaker Heights High School, 15911 Aldersyde Road.

Theft from Home, Aug. 11 — Equipment delivered to a home in the 3000 block of Belvoir Boulevard was stolen. The equipment was delivered to the home on Aug. 2.

Receiving Stolen Property, Aug. 11 — A 17-year-old boy was detained after police found him in possession of a stolen bicycle. The 17-year-old was located at Woodbury School, 15400 S. Woodland Rd.

Theft from Motor Vehicle, Aug. 12 — The catalytic converter on a 2007 Cadillac was stolen in the early morning hours. The vehicle, owned by a Cleveland resident, was parked in the 3000 block of Lee Road at the time of the theft.

Shoplifting, Aug. 12 — Police were called to Chagrin Wine and Beverage, 16814 Chagrin Blvd., for reports of a shoplifter. Officers detained a 50-year-old Cleveland resident that had stolen a beverage from the store.

Theft from Motor Vehicle, Aug. 13 — Personal property was stolen from an unlocked car parked in the 13000 block of Fairhill Road. The vehicle was parked in an unsecured multi-tenant garage. The theft is believed to have occurred in the early morning hours.
