Bicycles Being Stolen In Shaker Heights

Over the past few weeks, thieves have been snatching unsecured bikes throughout the city.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — Bicycles have been the targets of thieves throughout the city for much of the summer. Residents would be wise to keep their bikes locked up or otherwise secured to prevent further thefts.

Theft, Sept. 13 — Shaker Heights police detained a 15-year-old who stole a bicycle from a resident in the 2000 block of Weybridge Road. The bicycle was recovered by officers.

Theft, Sept. 13 — A bicycle was stolen from the 3000 block of Lindholm Road. The bicycle was left unsecured on a sidewalk.

Theft, Sept. 14 — A resident reported that someone stole their cell phone while they were at Shaker Heights High School on Aldersyde Road.

Theft, Sept. 17 — A bicycle was stolen from an unlocked garage in the 2000 block of Shelburne Road.

Shoplifting, Sept. 19 — A manager at Heinen's on Chagrin Boulevard reported that an unidentified woman stole merchandise from the grocery.

Theft from Motor Vehicle, Sept. 20 —Someone stole personal property from an unlocked car parked in the 12000 block of Fairhill Road.

Possession of Stolen Goods, Sept. 21 — Police were called to Shaker Heights Hardware on Chagrin Boulevard where they detained a 53-year-old Parma man. The man was found in possession of stolen goods.
