Bike Shaker 2016!
Enjoy Shaker Heights on a bike and learn about the history and architecture of our Garden City!

The Shaker Historical Society & Museum (SHS), 16740 South Park Blvd, Shaker Heights, OH, is excited to announce our Bike Shaker Tours for 2016!
SHS Board Member Greydon Petznick, architect, and Bike Shaker leader, Rick Smith, will lead you on five incredible tours of Historic Shaker Heights! All tours begin at 2pm and meet at the Shaker Historical Society. It is $15 to go on a tour if you use your own bike or $20 if you want to rent one of our bikes. SHS Members receive a $5 discount! All of the bike tours require an RSVP in advance to 216-921-1201.

May 15 at 2pm- Cycling through Shaker History
Learn all about Shaker Heights on this bike tour that will take you through the history of our Garden City oasis. You will learn all of the things you should know about your hometown!

June 12 at 2pm- Public Art of Shaker Heights – NEW THIS YEAR!
In partnership with the Shaker Heights Arts Council, explore at least eight different pieces of public art on display in Shaker Heights.
July 10 at 2pm- Open House Tour
Sponsored by the LeSueur team with Howard Hanna, we will teach you how to recognize the details that make Shaker Heights homes so special. Unlike other tours, this one allows you to see the homes inside and out!
August 14 at 2pm- The French Connection- French Architecture in Shaker - NEW THIS YEAR
Designed to complement our “The French Connection” exhibit, this tour takes you on a French adventure. One of the three main styles of architecture encouraged by the Vans, the French style is throughout Shaker, if you know how to recognize it.
September 11 at 2pm- Why all of the Red Brick in Shaker?
Join us on an 8.3 mile bike tour of historic Shaker Heights. Learn about why the predominant institutional and commercial architectural style is traditionally Georgian in Shaker. View homes and buildings designed by Cleveland architect Charles Schneider and Clarence Mack. See Plymouth Church and take in the sights of Shaker Square.
