Shaker Library Seeks Entries for 14th Annual Barbara Luton Art Competition

Shaker Library will accept entries for its 14th annual juried Art Competition from
2 to 6 PM Friday, March 1 and from 11 AM until 3 PM  Saturday,
March 2, 2013.  Entries will be accepted in the Main Library Board Room at Shaker Heights Public Library, located at 16500 Van Aken Boulevard in Shaker Heights. 

The competition is open to all visual artists, 18 years of age and older. All works must be original, two-dimensional, appropriately framed with a wire attached for hanging. Work not suitably framed will not be considered. The final decision in all cases rests with the jury. Artwork may not be larger than 5 feet high and 4 feet wide. The non-refundable entry fee is $25 for up to two entries, and checks should be made payable to Shaker Heights Public Library.

The winning entry will be purchased for the library’s permanent art collection for an amount not to exceed $1,000. Art exhibited must be for sale and 15% percent of sales made during and one month following the exhibit will be donated to the Barbara Luton Art Fund. There is also a First Place cash prize of $200, a Second Place cash prize of $100, and a Third Place cash prize of $50. The Gallery Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony will be held at 2 PM Sunday,
March 24, 2013.
